ABSTRACT

Objective:To analyze the utilization of proton pump inhibitors ( PPIs) in a three-A hospital to promote the rational use. Methods:The sales records of PPIs used for outpatients and inpatients were retrieved from the hospital database from 2010 to 2015, and the consumption sum, DDDs and DDC were analyzed statistically. Results:The consumption sum and DDDs of PPIs in the hospital were increasing, and the compound annual growth rate ( CAGR) of consumption sum was 13. 84%. The proportion of con-sumption sum and DDDs for PPIs injections respectively was 82. 2% and 29. 6% in the six years. The proportion of consumption sum and DDDs of oral PPIs respectively was 17. 8% and 70. 3% in the six years. The top three drugs in the list of consumption sum were pantoprazole, lansoprazole and esomeprazole. Conclusion: The application amounts of pantoprazole sodium for injection and lanso-prazole sodium for injection are relatively large, and the overuse of PPIs for injection can not be excluded.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the application of clindamycin phosphate for inpatients in a third grade class A hospital, and provide reference for the specication of its application. METHODS:Retrospective investigation was adopted to randomly obtain the medical information of inpatients who used Clindamycin phosphate for injection in a third grade class A hospital in May 2014, and its rationality was evaluated and analyzed by referred the instructions, relevant provisions and principles. RESULTS:Totally 205 patients used Clindamycin phosphate for injection, among which 174 were for the purpose of prevention medicine,31 cases for treatment purposes. There were reasonable use of 130 cases(63.4%);unreasonable prophylaxis of 71 cases(34.6%),unreason-able treatment of 4 cases(2.0%),it was mainly no indication of medicine, usage and dosage, treatment course and use of antibac-terial drugs. CONCLUSIONS:There still remains unreasonable phenomenon in the clinical application of the Clindamycin phos-phate for injection, the safe and effective clinical application can only be ensured if the drug regulatory system is improved and anti-bacterial drugs in clinical medicine guidelines is strictly enforced.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the rationality and trend of utilization of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) in six areas in China in 2011-2013. METHODS: The utilization of PPIs in Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Tianjin, and Hangzhou during the period of 2011-2013 were analyzed statistically in respect of consumption sum, DDDs, AARG, DDC, drug interactions, and medical insurance categary. RESULTS: Both the consumption sum and DDDs of PPIs increased quickly in the recent three years. The amount of omeprazole was the greatest and increased steadily. The amounts of rabeprazole and lansoprazole also increased rapidly especially for the domestic products. Medical insurance categary had no obvious effect on clinical choice. PPIs became more cheaper for patients. Rabeprazole and pantoprazole were preferred when PPIs were combined with other drugs, especially in the hospitals which had clinical pharmacist working in the department of gastroenterology or cardiology. CONCLUSION: The use of PPIs tends to be more rational, in which clinical pharmacists play a very important role.
